Overview

SPRING PR developed and implemented an integrated strategic communications campaign for Slavmed Medical Center to support the introduction of Armenia’s first robotic-assisted surgeries, marking an important advancement in the country’s healthcare sector.

While the introduction of robotic-assisted surgery represented a major technological milestone, it also presented a distinct communications challenge. In a healthcare environment where trust is closely associated with human expertise, the unfamiliar concept of robotic surgery could create uncertainty and misconceptions about the role of doctors in the operating room.

To address this challenge, SPRING PR developed the creative campaign “Your Health in Trusted Hands,” positioning robotic-assisted surgery as an advancement that enhances the precision and capabilities of medical professionals rather than replacing their expertise.

The campaign brought together strategic communications, public education, creative storytelling, media relations, and stakeholder engagement to build awareness of the new technology, strengthen public confidence, and reinforce Slavmed’s positioning as a pioneer in advanced surgical care in Armenia.

Strategy

SPRING PR developed the campaign strategy based on a comprehensive research phase that included quantitative surveys, focus group discussions, consultations with medical professionals, and international benchmarking. The findings revealed that the primary communications challenge was not the complexity of the technology itself, but the perception that robotic systems could replace the human role in surgery.

This insight shaped the campaign’s central message: technology enhances human expertise; it does not replace it.

The creative concept, “Your Health in Trusted Hands,” placed Slavmed’s doctors at the center of the narrative. Through a dedicated creative photoshoot, campaign visuals featured the hands of actual medical professionals in clinical settings, emphasizing experience, responsibility, precision, and care. Elements of doctors’ handwriting were also incorporated into the visual identity, reinforcing the human connection behind advanced medical technology.

The campaign was implemented through an integrated communications approach combining outdoor advertising, digital storytelling, educational content, video production, and cinema placements. SPRING PR developed a series of doctor-led communications materials, including expert interviews, explanatory videos, podcasts, and Q&A formats, to address common misconceptions and communicate the benefits of robotic-assisted surgery in an accessible manner.

Media relations formed an essential component of the strategy. SPRING PR coordinated national media outreach, expert commentary, interviews, and editorial coverage, while an extensive international PR campaign communicated the significance of Armenia’s first robotic-assisted surgeries to American and European audiences. This approach positioned the development not only as a milestone for Slavmed, but also as an advancement for Armenia’s healthcare sector.

Government relations and stakeholder engagement further supported the campaign’s credibility. SPRING PR coordinated institutional engagement, including the participation of Armenia’s Minister of Health in a demonstration of the robotic-assisted surgical system, reinforcing the message that the technology operates under the control and expertise of qualified surgeons.

By combining research-driven messaging, human-centered creative storytelling, public education, and extensive media engagement, SPRING PR transformed a complex technological innovation into an accessible healthcare narrative centered on professional expertise and patient trust.
