Overview

Agriculture is one of the leading sectors of the Republic of Armenia, therefore, since 2019, by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, a number of measures have been included in the strategy of the main directions ensuring the economic development of the agricultural sector of the Republic of Armenia for 2020-2030, including: the implementation of investment envelopes that ensure the development of livestock breeding and food security. In recent years, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the livestock sector, programs have been implemented to support investment projects and subsidize interest rates on agricultural loans, thanks to which a number of farms have been modernized, “smart livestock premises” have been created, and breeding animals of the best world breeds have been imported.

Within the framework of the policy implemented in the above field, The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), the Government of Armenia, and the Yeremyan Farm Company signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to ensure food security and sustainable development of Armenia’s agriculture by building a new livestock complex in the Tashir community of Armenia’s Lori Province in the near future. The EDB will assist the Armenian government by financing agricultural projects that promote the processing of raw materials and add value to agricultural products.

In order to ensure food security, agriculture, and economic development in the Republic of Armenia, the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), and “Yeremyan Farm” have signed a memorandum of cooperation. Within the framework of this investment project, an unprecedented large animal husbandry complex will be built in the Tashir community of Lori Marz.

The Eurasian Development Bank allocated 25 million US dollars to the “Yeremyan Projects” group of companies for the development of the entire production cycle. The project is implemented with the financial support of the Government of Armenia, which will partially subsidize the project’s investment costs within the framework of the “Support for investment projects implemented in the field of livestock breeding of Armenia” program.
